When I think of home, Saint Joseph Church comes to mind. As far back as I can remember, the tradition of attending mass together as a family has been my most treasured memory. This has been my parish for my entire life and where I have received all of my sacraments. I have been a volunteer for the parish in various ministries for the past 15 years. To this day, this is my safe haven, and where I have learned the most important life lessons that are rooted in God’s love for us, His church.
Growing up I wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher, and that dream stayed with me until I was in my early twenties. In middle school I started feeling this tug in my heart, and I started to look into the possibility of combining my faith with teaching. I never thought that I would ever be in a different profession, but God had plans for me far better than my dreams. Through some degree changes and transfers, it was clear that He was calling me to Youth Ministry. It is truly a gift from God, to have the opportunity to work with our youth and share the importance of living our lives for Our Lord.
It is an incredible blessing to not only be working in this ministry but to be working here at the only parish I’ve ever called home!
