Mark and Cathy Hainley have been selected as St Joseph Family of the Month for November 2021. Mark and Cathy have been members of St. Joseph Parish since 1973. They were married at St. Joseph Church 48 years ago and have two children, Ann and Allyson, and two grandchildren, Ryan and Megan. Both of their children went through Faith Formation at St Joseph’s. Mark is an Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus. He served St. Joseph Council as Grand Knight (1997-98) and as Financial Secretary for fifteen years. He also was a RCIA Sponsor. Mark has been a key supporter in all our council functions, especially the Pancake Breakfasts and the Lenten Fish Dinners. Cathy was a CCD Instructor and Lector. She has been involved with the Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center in Sierra Madre, CA where she was a Retreat Captain and supported the various retreats. The Hainley family participates in the GIFT Groups and have been involved in giving of their time and talent to the activities and ministries of St. Joseph Parish for many years.
The Knights of Columbus instituted the “Family of the Month” Program in 1978 to create a greater awareness of our many fine Catholic families. Since that time, the “Family of the Month” Program has grown to be one of the Order’s most successful. St. Joseph Council began its own Program to recognize and honor the outstanding Catholic families in our parish. Each month, we will select a family and present them a statue of the Holy Family to display in their homes for that month. Included in the presentation is a certificate and a prayer to the Holy Family by Pope Francis. The Family of the Month is requested to gather daily as a family and pray for the intentions of St. Joseph Parish.
