The Knights of Columbus Council #10287 has selected the Carlos Family as Family of the Month of June. Allan and Sheila Carlos have been members of St. Joseph Parish since 1996.  They have a daughter, Danica (22), who is in college and a son, Ian (18), who is graduating from high school.  Both Danica and Ian completed all their sacraments, from baptism to confirmation, at St. Joseph Church and attended St. Joseph Elementary School.  The Carlos Family has been involved in numerous ministries over the years.  Sheila has served as a member of the Pastoral Council and now serves as an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion.  Also, Allan and Sheila help count money from the collection after Mass on Sunday.  In addition, the Carlos Family hosts one of the GIFT Groups.  Their children served as altar servers and participated in numerous church activities such as Vacation Bible School, as participants or volunteers.  Danica and Ian are active members and youth leaders of the St. Joseph Youth Ministry and participate in various church youth activities and retreats. Danica currently serves as a lector at the 5 pm Sunday Youth Mass.  The Carlos Family has been involved for many years, giving of their time and talent to the ministries of St. Joseph Parish.  The Family leads by example, attending Mass weekly and actively participating at the Mass.

The Knights of Columbus have always been interested in the development of strong, vibrant families.  In support of this philosophy and to create an even greater awareness of our many fine Catholic families, the Supreme Council instituted the “Family of the Month” Program in 1978.  Since that time the “Family of the Month” Program has grown to be one of the Order’s most successful.  St. Joseph Council started the Program to recognize and honor the outstanding Catholic families in our parish. At the beginning of each month, the Knights of Columbus will select a Family of the Month and present to them a statue of the Holy Family to display in their homes for that month. Included in the presentation is a certificate recognizing the family and a prayer to the Holy Family by Pope Francis.  The Family of the Month is requested to gather together daily as a family and pray for the intentions of St. Joseph Parish.
