The St Joseph Parish Knights of Columbus have selected Joe and Carrie Emens family as "Family of the Month" for February 2020. Joe became a member of St. Joseph Parish in 1987 with his parents and siblings. He was the youngest of seven children and graduated from Servite High School. Joe and Carrie have been married for twenty-one years and after a short absence they moved back to the parish in 2004. They have one son, Brandon who is nine years old and a student at St. Joseph Elementary School. Carrie has been a Faith Formation Catechist for four years and she is currently an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Joe is an active member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph and can be seen helping in the kitchen during the Pancake Breakfasts and the Lenten Fish Dinners. Both Carrie and Joe are leaders in the St. Joseph Cub Scout Pack 1740. Also, Joe actively supports the JUSA youth soccer league in Yorba Linda. The Emens Family has been involved for many years, giving of their time and talent to the activities and ministries of St. Joseph Parish.
The Knights of Columbus instituted the “Family of the Month” Program in 1978 to create a greater awareness of our many fine Catholic families. Since that time the “Family of the Month” Program has grown to be one of the Order’s most successful. St. Joseph Council began its own Program to recognize and honor the outstanding Catholic families in our parish. Each month, we will select a Family and present them a statue of the Holy Family to display in their homes for that month. Included in the presentation is a certificate and a prayer to the Holy Family by Pope Francis. The Family of the Month is requested to gather daily as a family and pray for the intentions of St. Joseph Parish.
