The Knights of Columbus, Council #10287 has selected Chuck and Cheryl Goessling family as "Family of the Month" for January 2020. Chuck and Cheryl have been members of St. Joseph Parish since 1978. They have been married for 42 years and have three sons, Ben, Chris and Kevin. Kevin, the youngest, attended St. Joseph Elementary School from 6th through 8th grades. He was an altar server and later became a lectern. Cheryl has served the St. Joseph Parish in several capacities. Previously, she was involved with Sunday Bible Study and with overseeing the Obria pro-life flower sale. Currently, she is active in children’s ministry with 1st Communion Faith Formation. She also assists with the church environment. Chuck serves as a Confirmation Catechist, a Sacristan, and as an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Also, he serves on the Finance Council and sings in the adult choir. Both Chuck and his son Kevin are members of St. Joseph Council of the Knights of Columbus. The Goessling Family has been involved for many years, giving of their time and talent to the activities and ministries of St. Joseph Parish.
The Knights of Columbus instituted the “Family of the Month” Program in 1978 to create a greater awareness of our many fine Catholic families. Since that time the “Family of the Month” Program has grown to be one of the Order’s most successful. St. Joseph Council began its own Program to recognize and honor the outstanding Catholic families in our parish. Each month, we will select a Family and present them a statue of the Holy Family to display in their homes for that month. Included in the presentation is a certificate and a prayer to the Holy Family by Pope Francis. The Family of the Month is requested to gather daily as a family and pray for the intentions of St. Joseph Parish.
